I slept last night in Bunarong land
And dreamed that I met an old, old man
The song he was singing so soft and low
Was a ’callin’ to me like the wind by the sea
Down where the banksias grow, boys, down where the banksias grow
I was taken back to my mountain home
and down lanes I once knew I wandered alone
I stood on the corner where my daddy said goodbye
I wanted to cry and I wanted to hide
Down where the Corranderk grow, boys, down where the corranderrk grows
I went to the house of my very first love
And called out her name to the window above
I could see her auburn eyes lookin’ straight at me
Sighing that our love was never to be
So down the road I did go
Down where the grevilleas did grow, where the grevillea grows
Then I climbed up to the top of the hill
where the old schoolhouse stood proud and still
I saw the faces of my childhood friends
They smiled at me so innocently
And we ran down the valley so low
Down where the wattle trees grow, boys, down where the wattle trees grow.
I gazed down upon a city by the sea
And hopes and dreams came upon me
so I went on down ,I wandered around
but I didn't stay long, I didn't belong
down where the Yarra Gums grow, boys, down where the Yarra Gums grow
Then the old man came and he took my hand
“you are who you are, you belong to this land”
Life’s but a dream. there's worlds unseen
open your eyes ,in the morning you will rise
Down where the banksias grow down where the banksias grow
I awoke at dawn to the birds of the morn
and remembered the song of the Bunarong
I saw an endless ocean ,strange and diverse
The sound of breaking waves on the rocks by the caves
Filled the whole universe boys ,filled the whole universe
Down where the banksias grow ,down where the banksias grow

Bush Medicine
Lost knowledge
Secret magic
Help me now
I want something
That was taken
Taken from me
long ago
There’s a way to go
Bush medicine, heal me now
Theres a truth to know
Bush medicine heal me now
Along the valleys
In the mountains
Far away
From where the people go
Ferns and flowers
Filled with power
I want to pluck
The golden bough
Yarra Yarra
Woori Yallock
Donna Buang
Toolebewong
there's a fountain
in the mountains
Crystal waters
They Do flow

I got those hard travelling Newell Highway Blues
This road it is taking me away from you
The country is as big as my love for you
I got those Hard Travellin’ Newell Highway Blues
Left my home down south in old Victoria
By the time I hit Big river I’ll be missin’ you (ya)
My love is as big as the sky is blue
Newell highway will bring me back to you
I just keep a rollin down the road
A fiddle and a song my only load
Like a truckie making time
Like a man on the run
Newell Highway take me back to where I come from
And I gaze out across Wiradjuri lands
I sit and I wonder who I am
The days gone by and the future to come
Newell highway take me back to where I come from
I drive through the dusty little towns
I know that I will never settle down
Theres a song in my soul I’ll be singing it for you
I got those hard travellin’ Newell Highway Blues

Away out on the mountain, on the slopes of Juliet
Where the lyrebirds do so sweetly sing as the Autumn sun does set
The waters from the rocks do spring and mingle there so free
And thus begin their journey down the valley to the sea
The waters rise and follow down, sweeping through the trees
And a mopoke watches in the gentle mountain breeze
Towards the ever-setting sun the rising stream it hurries on
And carries in it's deep dark depths the lonely lovers bones.
Along the wooded river banks my love and I did go
Not thinking of the future or which way the wind did blow
We laughed and gaily wandered by the current flowing strong
Not heeding the warning in the Mopoke’s evening song.
Soon the night was falling and we found ourselves alone.
So far had we wandered we were lost and far from home.
My love became afraid and ran off into the night
A screamin’ and a crying and in the grip of fright
Into the dark she stumbled, cursing the very ground
And as she heard that Mopoke's cry she fell and she was drowned.
The moon it rose up slowly and in the pale bush glow
I jumped into those waters cold my love to rescue so
But her I could not find and the river it took me
Together now we journey down the valley to the sea
First stanza to end
